Junior – Guard
5’10 – 150
2017-18 Preview: Marquis is a knock down shooter. He can shoot from anywhere on the floor, but what makes him unique is his ability to get to the basket and finish above taller defenders. He won’t settle for the outside shot and takes pride in getting to basket looking to create for his teammates and himself. He plays much bigger than his actual size. Marquis is also a very good defender for his stature. He likes to pick up full court to pressure the ball handler. As a starter last year as a sophomore, he got a lot of experience on the varsity level so this season he will be bringing veteran leadership to a young team. They will be counting on him to lead them by example. He already does this by being successful in the classroom. He is an outstanding student-athlete.
Past Seasons: Marquis is entering his third year on the varsity level in three years of play. Last season he averaged 10.2 ppg as sophomore. He was a slasher who could get to the rim and finish and who could create his own shot. He knocked down 7 three pointers twice last season, once against King when he finished with 28 points and again against Marshall when he finished with a career high 31 points.
Personal: Marquis was born on 1/18/00. He is the son of Tyra Roberts and Marcus Barry. He attended the Business & Economics Academy of Milwaukee (BEAM) for middle school where he played for Coach Washington. His favorite subject at Hamilton is Math with Mr. Dang. The Cleveland Cavilers and Milwaukee Bucks are Quis’s favorite basketball teams and if he could pick any food to eat, it would be pizza.
