J’Len Johnson

Junior – Guard

5’9 – 155

2019-20 Preview: J’Len is a crafty and explosive guard who can get to the rim or pull up for the clutch 3.  His ability to score and play defense will allow him to earn a lot of minutes with a short bench this season.  The experience he has gained through his two long seasons with Hamilton will be beneficial and critical to the team’s success this season.  J’Len is also a stellar student who prides himself in being successful academically.  He will be a leader off the court with his classroom achievements.

Past Seasons: J’Len is entering his second season on varsity. As a freshman, he had the rare achievement of playing on all three levels. On freshmen, he had multiple 30-point games and led the team to a 18-2 record.  Last year, he was a spot up shooter backing up Marquis Barry who recently graduated.  He watched and learned a lot in his role as a backup and he’s looking to capitalize on that this season.

Personal: J’Len’s birthday is May 27th. He is the son of Tara Johnson. He attended Rufus King Middle School where he played for Coach Chapelle. His favorite subject at Hamilton is Gym with Mr. Bruton. His favorite basketball team is the Portland Trailblazers and favorite player is Damian Lillard and he could pick any restaurant to eat at, it would be Qdoba.
